Golden Monkey or Jin Hou is a famous Chinese black tea whose leaves are said to resemble monkey paws. Golden Monkey originates from the Fujian province of China and is hand-processed each spring with careful plucking of only one leaf and one bud. This Golden Monkey is sweet and very "nosy": savory roasted apples, palm sugar, walnut, cocoa, rye and spice notes that linger as you sip. Rich, coating texture and very smooth, soft mouthfeel are both signs of a quality Jin Hou. This is a very complex black tea and can be enjoyed in multiple infusions, a real treat for black tea lovers.

Health benefits: In addition to the undeniably desired effect, which is the improvement of humor associated with consuming something tasty, black brewed tea briefly raises the pressure, refreshes the body and mind. Black tea leaves brewed for over 3 minutes secrete tannins to infuse, which bind theine, inactivating its stimulant effect, while the tea prepared in this way helps digestion. The tannins in this tea are virtually imperceptible. The Golden Monkey leaves no feeling of astringency, reminiscent of a slight numbness of the tongue. It's just great.

How to make a Golden Monkey Tea?

Put 1 teaspoon of Golden Monkey Tea into 200 ml of hot water (95-100 degrees Celsius), cover and leave for 2-5 minutes. You can add some sugar or honey.
